Qualifications

Coaching Qualifications

  • Badminton Europe Advance (BWF Level 3) - ongoing

  • BWF Level 2

  • BWF Level 1

  • BWF Shuttle Time Trainer

  • BWF Shuttle Time Tutor

  • BWF Shuttle Time Teacher

  • UKCC Level 2

  • UKCC Level 1

I believe strongly that having a Coaching Certificate does not make me a better coach, however I do believe my qualifications show my desire to improve and develop myself alongside the players I am fortunate enough to work with.

Since I started my coaching journey I have been fortunate to have the support of some fantastic mentors who I am happy to now call my friends.

Courses + Safeguarding

  • Foundation in S+C

  • S+C Level 4 (Ongoing)

  • UK Safeguarding and Protecting Children

  • First Aid at Work Level 3

Whilst Technique and Tactics play a huge role in coaching. The safety of players has to be number 1. From Safeguarding best practice, to ensuring physical literacy to avoid injuries, removing barriers is the best way to make sure we can all enjoy Badminton together for life!

'Formal' Education

  • Masters in Zoology ft Herpetology

My formal degree was funnily enough nothing to do with Badminton or Sport whatsoever but actually in Zoology, more specifically herpetology. Although seemingly unrelated keeping up with academic research into Athlete Development is something I now do to ensure practices I deliver adapt with the times.
