And we are back...
The third and final of the junior league pilot kicked of at 9am last Saturday as always with one of the most important parts of any tournament a good warmup. 10 teams were present for the final instalment of the season split again into 3 divisions, totalling over 50 juniors in the hall for a morning of badminton!
Division 1 | Division 2 | Division 3 |
BangorMenai A | Vardre B | Llanfairfechan A |
Vardre A | BangorMenai B | Great Orme B |
Great Orme A | Prestatyn A | Great Orme C |
Vardre C |
Division 3
Division 3 had 3 rounds of games with each team going head to head once. Great Orme B started off strong and rode the momentum taking the top spot of division 3. However the other teams did not let them have it go easily with only 2 points separating the next 3 spots. Great Orme C snatched the 2nd spot with Vardre C and Llanfairfechan A coming in just behind.
Division 3 MVPs
A new addition to this rendition of the Junior league was that after each match both the players and the official gave a player of the match vote for each team. These have been totalled and the MVP of each team for this event was worked out.
Llanfairfechan A | Great Orme B | Great Orme C | Vardre C |
Andy | Daniel + Jessica | Jasper | Daniel |
Division 2
Division 2 saw a very young Prestatyn team give it their all against the more experienced BangorMenai B and Vardre B Teams. With close games in both experience came out on top with Prestatyn A coming in 3rd followed by BangorMenai B leaving the Vardre B team to take the Top spot.
Division 2 MVPs
BangorMenai B | Vardre B | Prestatyn A |
Macs | Daniel | Razzan |
Divisions 1
Division 1 as with the previous 2 renditions proved to be a very tight few games. Great Orme A took on Vardre A and BangorMenai A in the first two rounds. After some close games Great Orme A came just short with multiple games separated by just 1 point. BangorMenai A and Vardre A went into the final match looking for the top spot. Another great match which ended up in a 3-3 draw.
Division 1 MVPs
Vardre A | BangorMenai A | Great Orme A |
Haikey | Vicky | Lewis |
Conclusion
The Junior League Pilot has been an overwhelming success in the eyes of myself and all the coaches who have given up there time to support.
Over the next season we aim to officialise the league and include Trophies, Medals and more!!!
